James Frickleton graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law in 1983. He was a member of the UMKC Law Review staff. In 1995 he received the prestigious Missouri Bar Foundation’s Lon O. Hocker Award, which is presented annually to three young lawyers in Missouri in recognition of outstanding trial work.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and International Society of Barristers. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America®. Mr. Frickleton has also been named as one of the Top Ten lawyers in Missouri and Kansas by Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers magazine.
A past president of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law Foundation, Mr. Frickleton also is an active member of the American Association for Justice.
He is a member of the Missouri Bar, the Kansas Bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is a long-serving member on the Missouri Supreme Court Committee on Civil Jury Instructions.
Mr. Frickleton is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, all Missouri state courts, all Kansas state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, has written several articles for legal publications, and is a frequent lecturer before legal professional organizations. From 2007-2009, Mr. Frickleton served as co-chair of the American Association for Justice National College of Advocacy.
